Colic, ear infection, and other childhood success

When I came into Leaf Chiropractic, I was at the end of my rope.  I had a baby that screamed and cried until he was hoarse every night.  We had taken our 4 week old baby into his pediatrician thinking that he was sick or in pain and the doctor gave the dreaded "diagnosis" of Colic.  Colic is defined as uncontrollable bouts of crying that you cannot find a reason for, they are not hungry or in pain.  This was my child, anywhere between 5:00 and 10:00 my baby would scream as if he were being tortured and there was NOTHING I could do to make him feel better.  My pediatrician basically told us there is nothing you can do and that he will outgrow it by 3 or 4 months.

So there I was crying every night because I could not comfort my baby, I felt like a failure.  We were trying everything, reading all the books and trying their suggestions.  Nothing worked for us.  Luckily, one of my husbands co-workers suggested trying a chiropractor.  Both of her kids had been colicky and with her youngest they had taken him to the chiropractor and noticed a big difference with the child.  I was skeptical but desperate, so I gave Leaf Chiropractic a call and made an appointment.

My husband and I brought our baby into Dr. Leaf when he was 5 weeks old and at that point he was screaming uncontrollably at night and just overall grumpy and fussy during the day.  Our first appointment they performed a painless back scan and showed us his problematic areas and explained why it was causing his colic issues.  He then performed a painless adjustment of the irritated nerves which took just a minute.  It was very comforting to have everything explained to me before it was performed on my baby.  Now  at 8 weeks my baby is a complete different child, we still have our "witching hour" but instead or 3 to 4 hours of uncontrollable shrieking, it is now 40-50 minutes of periodic fussiness through out the evening.  He is much happier during the day and naps better.

Basically I owe my sanity to Dr. Leaf and am enjoying being a mother, finally.
